WHEN DOES IT MAKE SENSE
TO INVEST IN PROFESSIONAL BRANDING
Before answering this question, it's important to try to evaluate your situation holistically—look at whether you have a clear vision for your business, understand the benefits of having a complete brand identity, and have an idea of the costs involved. That way, you can choose what best benefits your situation.
1. Evaluate your Business Vision

To evaluate your business situation and vision, it's necessary to clearly define the product or service you offer, your value proposition, mission, values, target audience, and who your competitors are.

Below, I’ll share a workbook that will help you define all of this..
2. Advantages for investing in Brand Identity
Brand identity is more than just a logo—it's a tool that helps communicate what your business is about so it can reach more people. It may sound a bit strange, but a brand is like a human being: it has its own way of dressing, speaking, and doing things, which cannot be replicated. In this sense, branding is the strategy and story behind your visual identity that ensures it truly represents who you are—the why, what, and how of your business that makes it stand out from competitors offering similar products or services.
“Brand is the story and
design is the storytelling.”
- Susan Sellers

Investing in brand identity is important because:

Investing in a professional brand image can help you look more professional, stand out, become more recognizable, improve marketing effectiveness, and contribute to increasing the company's value and long-term growth.
In this way, a well-designed brand serves as a roadmap that works across different marketing platforms in a consistent and memorable way for the business.
3. Who should invest in branding identity?
If you're selling a product from the early stages of your business and you have a clear vision of your business and the market, it might be worth investing in brand identity design.
On the other hand, if things aren't as clear yet and you're still experimenting, spending thousands of dollars on branding might not be the best use of your money. Creating your brand identity yourself or using pre-designed options could be a more suitable choice. As your business grows and you gain more clarity about your target audience and goals, that’s when investing in professional branding becomes truly beneficial.
In case you you are considering investing in brand identity, I always recommend going for a complete basic package that includes a logo design with different versions to be adaptable to different formats, typography, colour palette, and a basic brand manual. Otherwise, in the short term, you might find yourself limited, and you will find it difficult to keep your brand looking consistent and professional very quickly. Investing, in brand identity, is  a bit like investing in computer. If you invest on something, with good specs for your needs your computer would last probably a lot longer. If you go for the very basic, you probably will run short very quickly and would need to get another computer before then expected.
Hacerlo tu misma
